Dear Parents and Carers
Re: Year 10 English GCSE – Spoken Language Certificate
Our students will receive two GCSE qualifications in English: one in Literature and one in Language. Additionally, they will be working towards a Spoken Language Endorsement certificate, graded as Pass, Merit, or Distinction.
To achieve this certificate, students must deliver a five-minute presentation on a global issue, followed by a question and answer session. We will begin preparing for this in class after the mock examinations. All resources will be available on Google Classroom.
Here are the global areas your child can choose from:
- Culture, Identity, and Community
- Beliefs, Values, and Education
- Politics, Power, and Justice
- Art, Creativity, and Imagination
- Science, Technology, and the Environment
Please ensure your child brings their charged Chromebook to every lesson. Your support in helping them rehearse their presentation and prepare for questions would be greatly appreciated.
We will be recording the presentations in class and aim for all students to complete their recordings before work experience in July.
